Professional Experience at MedImmune
Qing Zhu spent 10 years at MedImmune in the United States, where Zhu served as the Director of Infectious Diseases and Vaccines. Zhu's work there included focusing on antiviral biologics and novel biotherapeutics. Under Zhu's leadership, cross-functional matrix teams advanced antibody candidates from preclinical to clinical studies. Zhu also contributed to the regulatory submissions, including Investigational New Drug (IND) and Biologics License Application (BLA) processes, for several antibody drugs targeting respiratory syncytia virus and influenza.
Career Highlights at Chiron Corporation
Prior to joining MedImmune, Qing Zhu held positions of increasing responsibility at Chiron Corporation, which later became Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics. Zhu's significant contributions included developing vaccines and a small molecular inhibitor against the hepatitis C virus. These roles provided Zhu with extensive experience in vaccine development and antiviral research.
Education and Training
Qing Zhu received a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the University of Maryland. Following this, Zhu completed post-doctoral training in the virology program at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
