Having lived and worked in 8 countries on 4 continents and conducted business in more than 60 countries, I’ve cultivated top-level B2B relationships across multiple cultures and transportation, logistics, and transport-dependent industries to create a broad global industry network. Career highlights and leadership competencies include: ⇨ Playing an integral part in transforming Maersk Line commercial operations and organizations to weather the global financial crisis while identifying and pursuing growth pockets and high-value customers to restore the enterprise to its former glory as the most profitable, reliable, and efficient global shipping line. ⇨ Delivering 100% growth in four years for United Arab Shipping Co. during a challenging market environment, which paved the way for its merger with Hapag-Lloyd in 2017 and my subsequent role in driving post-merger integration as well as commercial activities for North America, the largest of Hapag-Lloyd’s six regions. As a values-driven leader focused on empowering people and bringing more diversity into the industry, I’ve created productive, inclusive, and engaged workforces across many functions (e.g., BD, sales & marketing, finance, HR, and operations) and mentored several rising shipping executives, particularly women, an initiative I started in my early days as a Managing Director in Tunisia.
