About Glenn Dubin
Glenn Dubin is an investor and philanthropist. He is the Principal of Dubin & Co. LP, a private investment company, and Chairman of the Dubin Family Foundation. Glenn co-founded Highbridge Capital Management LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund, in 1992. He grew the business into a diversified alternative asset management company with over $35 billion of capital under management, before selling a majority stake to JP Morgan in 2004 for $1.3 billion. In 2012, Glenn, along with a prominent group of global investors, acquired Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC (“LDHE”), changing the name to Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI”). CCI is now one of the world’s leading independent energy merchants. The following year, Glenn founded Engineers Gate LP, a quantitative trading company committed to building a next generation operating and technology platform for systematic trading strategies. In recent years, Glenn has expanded his focus to include investments in early and late stage growth companies, providing strategic advice and mentorship to their founders. Glenn is also a co-founder of the The Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that pioneered the application of investment principles to charitable giving. Robin Hood, started in 1988, is now the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York City, having invested more than $3 billion dollars in over 425 community partners that provide food, housing, education, legal services, and workforce development for low-income families. Glenn serves on the Board of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System, where he and his wife, Eva Andersson-Dubin, MD, established the Dubin Breast Center, a leading institution for breast cancer research and clinical care. They both received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Mount Sinai in 2013. Glenn also serves on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Museum of Modern Art. Glenn and Eva have signed The Giving Pledge, committing to give 50% of their wealth to charity in their lifetime. Glenn is the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in Economics in 1978. He received an honorary Doctor of Letters in 2012. A former Stony Brook Seawolves football player, Glenn made the largest private donation to an athletics department within the SUNY system to create the Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center and Stony Brook University’s Indoor Training facility.
