Nicole Johnson holds a PgDip in Voluntary Sector and NGO Management from Cass Business School, which she completed from 2010 to 2011. She also earned a Master’s degree with Distinction in Youth and Education Studies from King's College London between 2002 and 2004. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Nyack College, where she achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies/Affairs, graduating Magna Cum Laude from 1998 to 2002.

Nicole Johnson began her career in youth work, serving as a Sessional Youth Worker at The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey from 2002 to 2004. She then worked as the Youth Projects Manager at City YMCA in London from 2004 to 2009.
