Rupa Panday currently serves as the MEAL Manager at Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Kathmandu, Nepal, a position she has held since 2020. Prior to this role, she worked as a MEAL Coordinator for CRS from 2017 to 2019, focusing on the Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (HRRP). In her current role, she leads evaluation events for various projects under the country program and documents field-based perspectives and learnings. She has also initiated capacity strengthening for MEAL and non-MEAL staff, ensuring effective safeguarding of project databases.
Previous Experience in Nonprofit Organizations
Before her tenure at CRS, Rupa Panday accumulated extensive experience in various nonprofit organizations. She worked as a Field Coordinator at Nepal Red Cross Society from 2006 to 2010. She then joined GRM International as an Assistant Regional Program and Finance Officer for a year in 2011-2012. Following this, she served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Mercy Corps from 2015 to 2017 and later as a Senior Regional Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer for five months in 2017. Additionally, she worked with The Lutheran World Federation as a Regional Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Officer from 2012 to 2015.
Education and Expertise
Rupa Panday holds a Master's Degree in Education (M.ED) in English and a Master's Degree in Rural Development from Tribhuvan Vishwavidalaya. She pursued her studies from 2006 to 2014, which provided her with a solid foundation in educational principles and rural development strategies. Her educational background complements her professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) within various humanitarian and development contexts.
Leadership in MEAL Initiatives
In her role at Catholic Relief Services, Rupa Panday has taken a lead in various MEAL initiatives. She guides the MEAL team to implement sound systems for safeguarding project databases and advises on enhancing the inclusivity and effectiveness of the Beneficiaries Feedback Mechanism.
