Additionally, he completed the Alternative Certification for Teachers program at ACT*Houston in 2009. His military education includes various courses at the United States Marine Corps, such as the Basic School, Command and Staff College, and HAWK Officer Course.

Before joining CenterPoint Energy, Thomas Sharp worked as a Substitute Teacher at Spring Branch ISD and Fort Bend ISD from 2009 to 2011. His military background includes training as an Air Defense Officer and completing the Marine Air/Ground Task Force Intelligence Officer Course. His experience spans multiple states, where he has instructed field employees on natural gas distribution operations and behavioral-based safety.

Achievements

Thomas Sharp has contributed to several key initiatives and conferences throughout his career. He led a seminar during a Southern Gas Association Learning and Development Conference and served as a key presenter at three Behavioral Safety Conferences and the Texas Gas Association of Safety Round Tables. He acted as the team leader for the training group’s course catalog team, overseeing updates to the group’s course offerings. Additionally, he developed and implemented a plan for video teleconferencing equipment for the department’s Virtual Classroom Initiative.
