About Michael Sims

Michael is a Lieutenant with Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services located in the northern metropolis of Atlanta, GA. He started his involvement with the Fire Service in 2004 as an explorer and after several years in the program, he became a career member with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services (CCFES) in 2007. He’s currently assigned at a fire station which staffs an Engine, Squad, Air & Light Truck, and Battalion Chief Shift Commander. In addition to his role as a Fire Lieutenant, Michael is a licensed Paramedic, Lead Explorer Post Advisor, and Fire Station Designer for CCFES. Outside of his department, Michael serves as the Southeast Advocate to the National Fire and Emergency Services Exploring Committee, Fire & EMS Events Coordinator for BSA Winterfest, and Health & Safety Committee for the Atlanta Area Council BSA.
