Shane Sorensen's experience also includes significant roles at ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66. At ConocoPhillips, he worked as a Senior Process Design Engineer for the New Coker Unit at the Wood River Refinery from 2006 to 2007 and as a Senior Process/Operations Engineer in 2005 for five months. He also served as Operations Superintendent for the Coker, Petrolera Ameriven, Venezuela, in 2005 for three months and from 2001 to 2003. At Phillips 66, Sorensen filled roles such as Sulfur Block Process Engineer at Petrolera Ameriven from 2000 to 2001 and Operations Team Leader and Process Engineer at the Borger Refinery from 1999 to 2000.
Education
Shane Sorensen has a solid educational background in engineering. He earned a Master of Engineering in Chemical & Fuels Engineering from the University of Utah, completing his studies from 1986 to 1997. Prior to this, he achieved a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, studying from 1986 to 1993. Sorensen also attended Bingham High School from 1981 to 1985.
Early Career and Roles at Flying J and WesTech Engineering
Before joining Chevron, Shane Sorensen gained valuable experience at Flying J and WesTech Engineering. At Flying J, he served as a Process Engineer at the Flying J Refinery from 1995 to 1997 and as a Chemical Engineer from 1994 to 1995. At WesTech Engineering, Sorensen worked as a Process Engineer/Associate from 1990 to 1994, where he was involved in various engineering projects.
