Tom Wooding is currently working at CIBC as the First Vice-President. He has been with the company since 1985, bringing a wealth of experience to his role in the Edmonton, Canada Area. In 2001, he was appointed First Vice-President of CIBC Wood Gundy, a division of CIBC. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Tom has been a member of the CIBC Wood Gundy Chairman’s Council since 1993, which is the highest honour for Investment Advisors at the firm.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining CIBC, Tom Wooding worked at Schlumberger from 1982 to 1985. He served as a Senior Field Engineer in the Open Hole Wire Line Division in Calgary, Canada Area. This experience in the engineering field provided him with a strong technical foundation that he has continued to build upon throughout his career in investment management.
Education and Certifications
Tom Wooding studied Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta, achieving his P.Eng qualification. He pursued further education at the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School, obtaining a Certified Investment Management Analyst certification in 1970. His academic background and professional certifications reflect a strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
