Jacob Jiya holds multiple key positions across various organizations. He is currently the Chief Information Officer at CMD, where he oversees information technology strategies. Jacob also serves as a Senior Training Officer at the Centre for Microenterprise Development in Oregun, Ikeja Lagos. In addition, he is involved with the UNIVERSITY OF THE STREET as a PROGRAM in Nigeria. Before his current positions, Jacob Jiya garnered significant experience in various industries. He worked as a Software Developer at progenics corp limited in Lagos, Nigeria from 2003 to 2007. Jacob was also a Mathematics Lecturer at Hallfield Academy for one month in 2003. From 2001 to 2003, he served as the General Secretary for the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship, Lagos State Chapter. Earlier in his career, he was involved in an industrial training program at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation from 1992 to 1993.
Educational Background
Jacob Jiya has a robust academic background. He studied at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, where he earned a B.Sc/B.Ed in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. He also received a Post Graduate Diploma and an OND in Metallurgical Engineering during this period, from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, he studied at Federal Polytechnic Idah in Kogi State, achieving the General Certificate of Examination (GCE) from 1990 to 1992, and attended Government College in Makurdi, Benue State.
Professional Certifications
Jacob Jiya has earned several prominent certifications enhancing his expertise in microenterprise and risk management. He is certified by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) as a Microfinance Trainer. He also holds certifications in 'Making Microfinance Work' by the International Labour Organization (ILO), and in Risk Management by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Additionally, he completed the AMSCO Leadership Executive Program.
Role at Centre for Microenterprise Development
At the Centre for Microenterprise Development, Jacob Jiya is instrumental in designing, planning, and delivering various training programs. His responsibilities include ensuring that training materials and instructional methods remain current and effective.
