He played a key role in the New Doha International Airport project, where he managed the laying of 700,000 tons of asphalt and oversaw all underground services and lighting. Currently, he is involved in the Komo Airfield project, which features a 3.2 km runway at an altitude of 5,500 feet, along with the terminal and navigational aids.
Logistics and Operations Management
In his current role, Wright manages logistics for the Komo Airfield project, coordinating operations through Lae Port, located 800 kilometers from the project site. His logistical expertise ensures the timely delivery of materials and resources essential for the project's success.
Establishment of Asphalt Plants
Wright established three asphalt plants in different parts of Doha, which collectively have an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. This initiative significantly contributed to the efficiency of asphalt supply for various construction projects in the region.
Education and Expertise
John Wright studied Civil Engineering at Teesside University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from 1972 to 1977. His educational background provides a solid foundation for his extensive experience in project management and civil engineering. He also completed A levels at Dr Morgans Grammar School.
