I’m a lifelong entrepreneur turned Zentreprenuer and Executive Chairman/COO at Cruz Foam. I believe deeply in customer-centric big idea thinking. I like to be on and preferably over the edge of my skies as much as possible. I used to think I was figuring life out over time, silly me. I learned to let my journey expand and flow and then I realized that the more knowledge I acquire, the less I really know. That “less” part is what shapes me and where awe-ness exits. I’m grateful for: learning so much at Cruz Foam, Tesla, SolarCity, USWeb, Novell, and several other great companies along the way, falling in love with technology early in life and now sustainability, taking disco dance lessons in 1978 after watching “Saturday Night Fever." Toby Corey is the Chief Operating Officer at Cruz Foam. Cruz Foam is a sustainable materials company that developed a highly-scalable compostable foam to replace Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) in the $20b protective packaging market. Corey taught Entrepreneurship courses (MS&E 178 & 472) in the Management Science and Engineering department at Stanford University from 2011 - 2022. Corey is a former president of leaders in clean energy services with an IPO and successful Tesla merger. Corey was also the co-founder and former President/COO of worldwide leaders in web development services and successful IPO. Corey sits on the boards at Cruz Foam, Santa Cruz-based non-profit United Services Agency, and ONS Acquisition Corp. Corey sat on the boards at GetVirtual.org, Palmetto Solar, Non-profits WildlifeDirect with Dr. Richard Leakey, and Santa Cruz Works, Buoy Labs, Advanced Micro Grid Solutions, TravelScape, NBX sports, USWeb (NASDAQ: USWB), iGeneration, Electron Economy, Intend Change Buoy, Advanced Microgrid Solutions, WildLifeDirect. Career Highlights: successfully managed three $1b+ businesses (one as co-founder/President), two successful IPOs, raised over $300m in private and public financing, current COO and Board Director at Cruz Foam, former President of leader in clean energy services with successful IPO and successful Tesla merger, co-founder and former President/COO of worldwide leader in web development services with $3b+ market cap and successful IPO, managed 7,000+ employee organization, operating globally, awarded two "messaging" patents, executed 40+ M&A transactions while career path disrupted information technology, digital economy, Mobile sectors, Renewable Energy and Materials Sustainability.
