Previous Experience in Tax Services
Before joining d.light, Tom Kilonzo held various positions in tax services. He worked at KPMG Kenya as a Manager in Tax Services from 2011 to 2015, providing tax advisory services. He then transitioned to KPMG LLP in the United States, where he served as a Manager in Economic & Valuation Services (Transfer Pricing) for seven months in 2015. Additionally, he began his career at the Kenya Revenue Authority as a Revenue Officer - Tax Auditor from 2008 to 2011.
Education and Expertise
Tom Kilonzo has an extensive educational background in accounting and business management. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Nairobi, expected to complete in 2024. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nairobi, completed in 2012, and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from the same institution, achieved in 2005. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant, having completed his certification at Strathmore Business School in 2003.
