Previous Experience at Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
Simran Kanda served at Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) at York University in multiple capacities. She was an Advisor in 2019 for four months, guiding students in STEM fields. Before that, she held the role of President from 2018 to 2019, where she led various initiatives aimed at supporting women in STEM.

Simran Kanda studied at York University's Lassonde School of Engineering, where she earned her bachelor's degree from 2016 to 2020. Prior to this, she attended Guru Nanak Public School in Chandigarh from 2014 to 2016 and Sacred Heart School from 2009 to 2014.
Leadership Roles in Hackathons and Competitions
Simran Kanda has held several leadership positions in various hackathons and competitions. She was the Lead Organizer for YorkU Hacks in 2018. She also chaired ElleHacks from 2018 to 2019, an all-women hackathon aimed at promoting female participation in technology. Additionally, she was involved in Lassonde Student Government as a Communication Coordinator from 2016 to 2017.

She worked as a Robotics Program Assistant at Quantum Youth Labs in 2018, assisting in youth education for robotics programs.
