Ioannis Lekkas holds a Greek Diploma in Materials Science from Panepistimion Patron / University of Patras, where he studied from 2004 to 2009. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master's degree in Nanotechnology from Universiteit Twente / Twente University between 2010 and 2013. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics at the University of Nottingham from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise from University College Dublin in 2015.
Background
Before his current position, Ioannis Lekkas worked as a PhD student at the University of Nottingham as part of the ACRITAS Initial training network Marie Curie from 2013 to 2017. He also served as a Visiting PhD Student at the University of Regensburg for one month in 2015. Earlier in his career, he was self-employed as a personal tutor for high school students in physics and chemistry from 2008 to 2010 in the Patras area, Greece. He also engaged in agricultural farming for a brief period in 2009.
