Kat Roarty has a diverse educational background. She studied at HDS Handels- und Dolmetscherschule St. Gallen from 1994 to 1996. She also attended New College Swindon, where she earned a CIPD Certificate in HR Practice Level 3 from 2014 to 2015 and a CIPD Certificate in HR Practice Level 5 from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, she studied Leisure & Tourism at Reading College of Arts and Technology, achieving a GNVQ from 1996 to 1997.

Background

Before her current role at Diamond Light Source, Kat Roarty worked in various HR and management positions. She served as an HR Advisor and Office Manager at IP Integration for ten years, from 2007 to 2017. She briefly worked as an International Payroll and HR Advisor at Nuvias Advanced Networking in 2019. Prior to her current position, she was an HR Coordinator in Life Science at Diamond Light Source from 2017 to 2019.

Since 2019, Kat Roarty has been involved in advancing the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) through her work on the ExPaNDS project. This initiative focuses on enhancing collaboration and data sharing among various research infrastructures across Europe, aiming to improve access to scientific data and resources.
