Steve Nally has a solid educational foundation in engineering. He earned a Master of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales, completing his studies from 2002 to 2010. He also holds a Bachelor of Business in Logistics and Operations Management from the University of Southern Queensland, which he completed from 1988 to 1996. Earlier, he obtained a Certificate of Competency in Electrical Engineering Trade from the Queensland Electricity Generating Board between 1980 and 1984.

Nally possesses specialized skills in in-seam drilling using up/down looking gamma tools. He has experience in project engineering management for 6th generation semisubmersible deepwater harsh environment DP3 rigs. His expertise extends to the installation and commissioning of high, medium, and low voltage electrical marine power systems, as well as vessel integrated control and management systems. He is also proficient in horizontal drilling and ranging techniques to intercept vertical wells.
