About Ann Barr
A creative and self motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a tenacious approach to problem solving and proven ability to work independently. A high calibre graduate with a breadth of operational experience gained within blue chip, the voluntary and community sector; and small business environments. Experience of identifying and influencing key stakeholders, collaborative working with a range of partners and a proven ability to communicate formally and informally, in writing and in person. In recent years, whilst pursuing family friendly career options, I have maintained strong links with the technical world by involvement with the Python software community as a volunteer organiser of the PyCon UK Django Girls workshop and a member of the core organising team of PyCon UK. I have enjoyed being able to establish credibility as a useful member of the community, despite an atypical tech background. After recently committing to updating my technical skills with Teach Returners, I am looking for a challenging software engineering role to harness and grow my creative and technical skills and experience.
