He also played a key role in improving Honolulu's ranking in energy efficiency from 49th to 24th in a national report.

While at the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, Josh Stanbro founded and led the Hawaiʻi Fresh Water Initiative and the Hawaiʻi Environmental Funders Group.
