Before his tenure at EmblemHealth, Greg Rider worked in various roles that contributed to his professional development. He served as a Compliance Education Specialist at NYU Langone Medical Center from 2012 to 2014 and as a Staff Trainer/Training Manager at KnowledgePoint360 Group from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, he was an Adjunct Instructor in English at Georgia Perimeter College from 1992 to 1996.
Achievements
Greg Rider has made significant contributions to the field of compliance education and LGBTQ+ healthcare. He developed an 'Introduction to LGBTQ Healthcare' online course at NYU Langone Medical Center and designed online compliance courses for 20,000 users of the institution's learning management system. He co-edited the ATD Talent Development and Training in Healthcare Handbook, published in November 2021, and was recognized as one of Crain’s New York Notable LGBTQ Leaders in both 2022 and 2023.
Community Engagement
Greg Rider is actively involved in community initiatives aimed at improving healthcare for LGBTQ+ individuals. He launched an LGBTQ Healthcare Coalition that includes NYC-area healthcare providers, academic medical centers, and the City of New York. He also facilitates training sessions on best practices for LGBTQ patients and the use of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) tools in electronic medical records across 37 medical offices in New York City and Long Island.
