Marius Petroiu has extensive legal experience, starting his career as a Junior Associate Lawyer at Stoica & Associates (McCarthy Tétrault Canada correspondent office) from 1998 to 2001. He later worked as a Legal Associate at Gide Loyrette Nouel France in 2001. Marius founded and practiced at Marius Petroiu Law Office from 2004 to 2008. He then joined CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP SCP as a Senior Associate, where he worked for 11 years until 2019. Currently, he holds a significant role at Endava.
Education and Expertise
Marius holds a Bachelor of Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest, completed in 1998. He also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business and IP Law from McGill University, Faculty of Law, completed in 2006. Leadership in Privacy Law
Marius has demonstrated leadership in privacy law by co-chairing the CMS Romania IP and Data Protection practices. At Endava, he coordinates a team of 4 privacy in-house lawyers, oversees group data subjects requests processes, and manages data processing registers at both controller and processor levels. He has also set up group privacy screening processes for prospective suppliers, and drafted new group policies on background screening, retention and deletion, and CCTV.
