He also served as Senior Director and U.S. Head of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance at the same company for 5 months in 2018. His experience includes a 14-year tenure at Alcon Laboratories, Inc. as Director and Head of Medical Safety for the Pharmaceutical Franchise.

Background in Nursing and Clinical Research

David Wells began his career in healthcare as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU at University of Utah Health, where he worked for 11 years from 1988 to 1999. He also served as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Utah School of Medicine for 2 years. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Utah, where he studied Registered Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Research, and Clinical Nursing from 1987 to 1991.
