About Adam Bretsch
I have 3 years of internship experience at Crane Naval Base in Crane, Indiana, working in the Open Architecture Software Development Branch. During my time there I assisted with many large-scale military projects, serving as the team’s troubleshooter to help innovate and debug challenging code and designs. I found my internship at Crane to be extremely valuable and interesting, and I am especially enthusiastic about continuing to work in the field of software, hardware, and firmware design. Over the course of my studies I completed multiple intensive projects with emphasis on embedded systems and firmware design. I gained extensive experience using industry tools such as the BeagleBone embedded Linux platform and Altera FPGAs, designing an Air Traffic Monitor that tweets, a USB 2.0 medical device simulator used for automated testing, and a working stack-based 32-bit processor from the gate logic level. In technical engineering projects like these I was able to hone my leadership skills, guiding the team and consulting with the project’s client to ensure all requirements are met at the highest level of quality. My work style is very detail-oriented, focusing on the mechanics of each individual part and how they interact to try to prevent bugs and design failures before they happen. Outside of work I am a tabletop board games enthusiast, and can be found playing and designing games to add to my collection. I love to dive into the complicated, interesting challenges that board games provide and am always ready to enjoy a good game. I can be contacted at through this profile or at adambretsch@gmail.com
