Yiqi Chen serves as the Sr Manager of Central Operations at Expedia Group, a role he has held since 2019. Based in Singapore, he leads a team of 10 across the APAC region. Before becoming the Sr Manager of Central Operations, Yiqi Chen held several positions at Expedia Group. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee Organizer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Hotel Connectivity Solution Manager, also based in Kuala Lumpur. In these roles, Yiqi developed and sustained strong internal partner relationships by delivering consulting services and helped drive automatic solutions through APIs and products to decrease operational costs.
Early Career in Hospitality
Yiqi Chen’s early career was rooted in the hospitality industry. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as a Duty Manager at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Shanghai. Before that, he served in various roles at PARK HYATT SHANGHAI, including Front Office Assistant Manager and Corporate Leadership Trainee-Rooms Division from 2011 to 2012. His experience in the United States includes an 11-month tenure as a Front Desk Agent & Communication Agent & Night Audit at Park Hyatt Washington in the Washington D.C. Metro Area from 2010 to 2011.
Educational Background
Yiqi Chen holds several advanced degrees. He earned a Master of Science in Hospitality Business from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University from 2008 to 2010. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Marketing from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, where he studied from 2004 to 2008. In 2018, Yiqi further enhanced his credentials by becoming a Certified NLP coach and completing 125 hours of training as an International Coaching Federation (ICF) coach through the Academy of Leadership Coaching & NLP.
