About Shaunak Chokshi
I am an Engineering Manager with Apple Inc. leading a team that specializes in Multi-Touch, Deep Learning with the goal of creating best in class human-computer interactions. I have implemented and optimized neural network engines for futuristic applications while working as a Lead Deep Learning Software Engineer. My interest in the field of Deep Learning and Computer Vision originated during my internship with Magic Leap where I worked on some exciting projects in this field. I have a graduate degree from NC State University in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Machine Learning and Embedded Systems. I have taken courses like Computer Vision, Computer Vision Controlled Robots, Embedded Systems, Embedded Linux and Operating Systems which, coupled with my past experience provide me with immense depth and breadth of knowledge to work in a variety of software engineering roles. Outside of my coursework, I have volunteered with the Advanced Robotic Sensing Lab (ARoS) where I integrated a blimp with a camera that streams data over wifi so as to provide robust visual guidance to an autonomous UGV (Husky). I have also implemented firmware changes to enhance power management of TI's SensorTag chip. During my undergraduate studies, I have been a member of Nirma Robocon, the robotics society at Nirma University. I was elected the team leader for the same and under my guidance, our team bagged 1st position in ABU Robocon, India's most reputed robotics event. We have also represented India at an international stage and hence have gained valuable experience in robotics and embedded systems.
