About Yury Yurevich
Over last 20 years I developed and maintained a lot of products and services written in Python. While I do have experience with full-stack development, my primary competence is in the backend — web services, RPC or REST APIs. I've used almost all major web frameworks for Python — TurboGears (back in the day), Django (since the very first public version 0.96), Flask, name it. I have a lot of experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and some experience with Kubernetes and Heroku. I actively participated in all stages of a product lifecycle, starting from prototyping, architecture design, building a proof of concept, and finishing up with a long-run maintenance and decommissioning. I worked with waterfall, kanban, scrum or hybrid iterative models. Most of the projects I’ve been involved into have had a scale of up to few terabytes of data and tens of thousands of users. Over the years I’ve grown to enjoy all aspects of my work: building something from scratch, meticulous debugging, preparing a comprehensive test suite or writing a documentation. I strive for excellence in my craft, but I can live with imperfections I am passionate about human part of work: mentoring, sharing, learning. My biggest motivation is helping people: help users do their work, help my team reduce friction, help my teammates get unblocked.
