Marcelo Fernandes has held multiple positions at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). He served as an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Economics from 2000 to 2004. Later, he worked as Research Director at GVcepe - Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center from 2013 to 2015. Currently, he is a Professor of Finance at the Sao Paulo School of Economics, a role he has held since 2011. Marcelo Fernandes currently works as a Researcher at Covid19Analytics since 2020 and as a Partner at Kogno Economics since 2016. At Kogno Economics, he provides technical support to firms in areas such as optimal execution, risk management, forecasting, and model validation. He also serves as Chief Editor of the Brazilian Review of Finance and holds editorial positions at several academic journals, including the Journal of Empirical Finance and the Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting.
