In addition to this role, he is also the Regional Deputy Director of the Emergency Operations Centre, where he provides management oversight for a regional team of staff. Brent Tom has extensive experience at the First Nations Health Authority, having held multiple positions from 2013 to 2020. He began as a Senior Coordinator in Engagement & Coordination, Policy Planning & Transformation, where he worked for three years. He then served as Regional Health Liaison for four years before transitioning to his current roles. Additionally, he briefly held the position of Director of Regional Engagement in 2019 for two months. His roles have focused on engagement and coordination within the health sector.

Experience at Indian Residential School Survivors Society

Before his tenure at the First Nations Health Authority, Brent Tom worked at the Indian Residential School Survivors Society from 2007 to 2013. In this role, he served as Executive Assistant and Accounts Payable, contributing to the organization's operations for six years in the Vancouver, Canada area. This experience provided him with a foundation in administrative support and financial management within a community-focused organization.

Educational Background

Brent Tom studied at Malaspina University-College and The University of British Columbia. His educational background has equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary for his roles in health emergency management and community engagement within the First Nations context.
