About Kate Botler Kodesh
Proven leader in talent and people strategy, with a legal background and a passion for operational efficiency, people effectiveness and employee experience. I have two decades of experience in various people roles, from executive recruiter to HRBP to VP of Global Talent, at fast-growing and mission-driven companies in the tech sector. Most recently, I was the Chief People Officer at Color, a health technology company that democratizes access to high-quality and personalized care. There, I led a team of 60 people across talent, people ops, people programs, total rewards, DEI, L&D, and workplace/safety. I helped scale the company from 300 to 1000+ employees, while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and belonging. We also implemented company-wide initiatives on candidate and hybrid employee experience, compliance and policies, performance management, and total rewards. I am proud of the impact we made on transforming the healthcare industry during such a tumultuous time period. Prior to Color, I spent 8 years scaling Lyft in roles spanning the entire people function, ultimately focusing as the VP, Global Talent running a rockstar team of 250+ across the globe. I’m so proud of what we built from a scrappy 90-person startup to a well-oiled 6k+ public company. Our talent team tripled and then doubled the company YoY but still managed to maintain the magic of a stellar recruiting process. Before joining Lyft while at Russell Reynolds, I worked with high-growth tech startups (Series A-D) to place executives across all c-level functions. As a primary relationship manager for clients, I managed all client and candidate experiences. Prior to RR, I was in the rotational finance program for Morningstar, Inc. where I focused on data analysis for Morningstar.com. I received my BA from Northwestern University and went on to get my JD from Fordham and pass the NY bar (you know, for fun! :)).
