About Marie Kern
I started with IBM mounting tapes and then moved on to the print shop, cross training in microfiche and then Production Control. I worked at IBM for 8 years before moving to what was “CheckFree” but has since been purchased by Fiserv, where I have been employed for over 25 years. At Fiserv, I started in the Operations side of the house, moved briefly to Business Continuity and then moved back to Operations as the Data Center Manager at the request of the VP of Operations at that time. I then moved to a client facing role in Professional Services, starting as a Certifications Analyst (QA) with the client to ensure the client received everything they contracted for and testing with them to a level that ensured their comfort and readiness to prepare them for Production. Afterwards, I moved to the Software Engineering team where I worked on conversions and the set-up of proprietary products. I then moved up to Team Lead of the group and then Manager. After Managing the team for a couple of years an additional team of Technical Consultants was added, providing the experience of managing multiple teams. I have a passion for troubleshooting and helping people, whether they are internal or external customers. I enjoy building teams and relationships and excel at ensuring all teams involved in a process are on the same level playing field by making sure everyone has the appropriate learning tools. I am an effective Individual Contributor as well as Manager, I enjoy both roles.
