Ray Iu earned his Master Degree in Real Estate from The University of Hong Kong, where he also studied Management Information Systems and Computer Science. Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor Degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Business Administration and Management, with a minor in Management Information Systems and Computer Science. This diverse educational background provided him with a solid foundation in both business and technical fields.
Experience at Walmart
Ray Iu worked at Walmart for a total of 12 years, during which he held various senior roles. From 2010 to 2019, he was the Senior Director of Real Estate in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Prior to this, he served as Regional Manager at Shanghai Walmart Global Sourcing from 2007 to 2010, and as Manager of Global Security from 2004 to 2007. His extensive experience at Walmart encompassed responsibilities in real estate, global security, and sourcing.
Professional Experience Before Flexport
Before joining Flexport, Ray Iu held several key positions in different organizations. He worked as an Investigating Officer for the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in Hong Kong SAR from 2001 to 2004. He also worked at Deloitte as a Consultant for 11 months in 2001. These roles provided him with a broad base of experiences in investigation and consulting before transitioning into real estate.
Real Estate and Workplace Experience Expertise
Ray Iu possesses extensive expertise in real estate and workplace experience. At Flexport, he has been leading initiatives in these areas since September 2019. His skill set covers location strategies, site selection, transaction management, project management, facilities management, and enhancing workplace experience. Additionally, he is adept in portfolio transformation, visioning, and master planning, and holds a PMP® certification, demonstrating his proficiency in project management.
