About Annie Ostojic

• I am a Davidson Fellow Laureate & Stanford student researcher/inventor with a passion for creating solutions to everyday problems through STEM applications. I was a U.S. delegate for the 2020 Stockholm Intl Youth Science Seminar (SIYSS). SIYSS normally attend the Nobel Ceremony in Stockholm and present their research to Nobel Laureates and professors. Even though the pandemic modified 2020 Nobel Prize events, I enjoyed presenting my research at virtual SIYSS. • I have work experience in government, academia, corporate, and finance internship positions. • I am a 2021 D.E. Shaw Fellowship recipient. Fellows take part in case studies and sessions with analysts to gain knowledge about the finance industry. • I am completing a BS in Electrical & Biomedical Engineering and Entrepreneurship and a MS in Electrical Engineering in 4 years through the coterminal program. I have interests in pursuing an MBA in the future. • My STEM passion began at an early age and has flourished over time through scientific research and competitions. Applying STEM to improve our world is the foundation of my scientific inquiry. As such, I have created two energy-saving inventions with provisional patents (an engineered microwave cavity with improved energy distribution, and a battery-charging device that harvests indoor light energy to re-energize batteries). These innovations sparked a series of events in my life including: two meetings with Former President Obama at the White House, a 2018 Forbes 30Under30 Listmaker (Energy & Youngest lists), recognition as an Intel ISEF Finalist, Broadcom MASTERS Samueli Foundation top award, and Indiana Governor's STEM Team Award 2019. • I am a STEM advocate and leader with requests for presentations from the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley as a "Rock Star", filming of my invention with Bill Nye, and media coverage in 30 countries. I conduct STEM presentations for students and presented to 1,000 educators at the 2019 South Shore Conference.
