With years of insurance industry experience, I know for sure that a closed file is a happy file. Early in my career, a supervisor told me, “Many adjusters look for reasons to deny claims. We look for reasons to pay claims.” While the advice was unconventional in an industry known for scrutinizing every detail, it has stuck with me throughout the years. While I judiciously defend my clients’ bottom lines, I am an independent claims adjuster who understands the big picture, and knows that in certain circumstances, policyholder satisfaction is more important than haggling over a few dollars. Over the years, I have worked as an insurance broker, an underwriter, an independent adjuster, a senior litigation manager, a risk manager and as a claims manager – and covered many territories throughout Calgary, Alberta and Ontario. This multi-faceted experience has provided invaluable insights that contribute to my adjusting success today. You'll find me to very adaptable and easy to work with. I think my rapport-building skills are unique and make for an ease of claims handling and trust-building which is key for resolving claims quickly and minimizing litigation. My sense of humor keeps me sane and allows me to relate to a wide range of claimants – from a CEO of a large corporation to someone living in a tiny apartment.
