About Jacob Snyder
I see myself as a self-motivated and creative worker. I always enjoy learning new things about my fields of interest and new ways to accomplish different tasks, as well as improve upon my previous knowledge to allow myself to work more efficiently and effectively. I have had a variety of work experiences ranging from educational positions to professional software development. I have learned much about myself through these different roles and understand what my strengths and weaknesses are so that I can continue to improve upon myself. Having worked as a tutor for much of my time at college I learned the importance of communicating clearly and concisely to convey ideas to others as well as gained working leadership experience as a lead tutor. Working as a researcher's assistant during both my undergraduate and graduate degrees taught me much about self-policing and motivation to continue providing the highest quality of work that my abilities allow in a very self-governed environment. These skills and experiences allowed me to excel during my time at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. Currently I am working as an embedded software engineer with John Deere's Intelligent Solutions Group. I am working on a team responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining several firmware platforms for both Intel and ARM microprocessors. I have gained a breadth of knowledge in this position regarding development of drivers for a Linux OS as well as learning about more embedded software technologies used in industry today. I continuously push myself to improve both as a person and professional in hopes that I may have a continually larger impact on society at large.
