Ying Fan holds a Ph.D. in Food Science with a minor in Food Resource & Economics from the University of Florida, completed in 2020. Fan also earned a Master's Degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the same institution in 2016. Prior to that, Fan obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2014.

Research and Technical Skills

During Ph.D. research, Ying Fan developed new quality sensory and analytical methods using GC-MS and colorimetric devices to enhance decision-making on seafood quality. Fan is skilled in operating and troubleshooting various analytical instruments such as GC-FID, GC-MS, and HPLC. This technical expertise supports Fan’s contributions to food product development.
