About Charles H.

I'm a junior at Harvard College studying Statistics and Mathematics with a minor in Energy and Environment. Through my academic, extracurricular, and professional experiences, I seek to understand how organizations can accelerate sustainability and decarbonization efforts throughout the public, private, and NGO sectors. My interests lie at the intersection of sustainability, climate, energy, transportation, and cities, particularly from a policy, finance, consulting, data, and equity lens, with a focus on international climate policy and corporate sustainability. I'm also deeply passionate about writing, podcasts, photography, sports, traveling, biking, running, and cooking. My experience in these areas include: • Consulting for Fortune 500 companies and international NGOs on sustainability issues • Organizing a panel on cleantech finance for the 2021 MIT Energy Conference • Helping Harvard write its revised sustainability plan as a member of the Harvard Presidential Committee on Sustainability • Conducting research at Harvard Kennedy School on climate stimulus policy, blockchain applications in energy, and green hydrogen and at Harvard Business School on ESG data for the airline industry • Developing a systems thinking framework for improving public transit in Boston • Launching and organizing a campaign that successfully petitioned Madison Metropolitan School District to become the then-largest U.S. school district with a 100% renewable energy resolution • Internships with the EPA, Clean Energy States Alliance, Climate Cabinet, City of Madison, and Capital One • Coursework on environmental economics, climate law, renewable energy, energy policy, environmental politics Email: charleshua@college.harvard.edu
