Lee Jones currently holds several positions including Member of NCI Central Early Phase Emphasis IRB at NCI since 2021, Patient Advocate at SWOG - Leading cancer research since 2017, and Member of Institutional Review Boards at Georgetown University since 2016. He is also the President of HMJ Financial Services, a position he has held since 2009.

Over his career, Lee Jones has held numerous influential roles. These include serving as Executive Adviser at a Major Government Law Enforcement Agency from 2009 to 2013, Executive Vice President at Miracle Systems from 2009 to 2010, and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement from 2008 to 2009. He has also worked at DecisonPath Consulting, the US Dept. of Labor, Mellon Bank, and US Treasury, among others.
Educational Background
Lee Jones earned a bachelor's degree in a self-designed major at Dartmouth College, focusing on psychology, anthropology, and education. He attended medical school at Columbia University and completed a psychiatry residency and chief residency at UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Additionally, he has undertaken a consultation-liaison fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a research fellowship at UC San Diego. He also studied at Harvard University, achieving the Senior Executive Fellow position in 2000.
Achievements and Contributions
Lee Jones has achieved several notable accomplishments. He serves on the AAMC Board of Directors and is AAMC's representative to the Coalition for Physician Accountability. He is a past chair of the AAMC Group on Student Affairs National Steering Committee and is recognized as an expert in holistic admissions. Furthermore, he has been a national educator on medical education and DACA.
