Current Role at Aurukun Bauxite Project
Caroline Cave serves as the Health and Safety Lead for the Aurukun Bauxite Project, a position she has held since 2021. In this role, she has designed the operational framework, which includes the development of systems, documents, and tender processes that align with Glencore's operational standards. She has also implemented an innovative sampling methodology to ensure the ore is free of respirable crystalline silica, which has eliminated the need for costly mitigation measures.
Previous Experience at Glencore
Prior to her current role, Caroline Cave worked at Glencore as the Group Manager of Sustainability in the Coal Department from 2019 to 2021. During her tenure in Sydney, Australia, she focused on sustainability initiatives within the coal sector, contributing to the company's commitment to responsible resource management.
Education and Expertise
Caroline Cave holds an MBA from the University of Alaska Southeast, where she studied Service Management from 2010 to 2013. She also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Health & Safety from RMIT University between 1999 and 2001. Additionally, she has a Graduate Certificate in Security Management from the University of Denver, completed from 2015 to 2017, and a Certificate III in Engineering from TAFE Queensland, which she obtained from 1995 to 1999.

Caroline has extensive experience in health and safety management, having worked at Newmont Goldcorp Corporation in various roles from 2011 to 2019. She served as the Health & Safety Manager for Global Near Mine Exploration and later as Senior Manager for Systems & Governance in Health, Safety & Security. Her work included the development of an integrated management system at the Aurukun Bauxite Project to facilitate continuous management of documents and records.
