Ahmad Al Horani serves as the Lead on National Youth-Led Innovation Programs for USAID YouthPower at Global Communities. He has held this position since 2018, contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at empowering youth in Jordan. In this role, he focused on grant management and support for civic initiatives in Jordan. Educational Background
Ahmad Al Horani has a strong academic background in agriculture and organic farming. He earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Mediterranean Organic Agriculture from CIHEAM - Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, Italy, from 2010 to 2012. He also holds another Master of Science (MSc) in Horticulture from Jordan University of Science and Technology, where he studied from 2003 to 2007. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Plant Production, also from Jordan University of Science and Technology, completed in 2003.
Mentoring and Training Initiatives
In his current role, Ahmad provides mentoring to over 300 youth, helping them qualify as initiative designers and trainers using the PAVAL toolkit. He develops standard curricula and training materials under the Fixed Amount Award (FAA) grant, ensuring that youth have the necessary skills and knowledge to implement their initiatives effectively.

Ahmad's career includes various roles in grants management and research. He worked as a Senior Grants & Contracts Officer at Global Communities from 2014 to 2016, and as a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at Mercy Corps from 2013 to 2014. He also served as a Grants Activity Officer for the European Commission from 2008 to 2010. His early career included positions as a Full-Time Research Assistant and Teaching & Research Assistant at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
