In addition to his role at Global Shapers Community, Ambe Chenemu is the President and Founder of the Black Advocacy Coalition upNorth, where he works to empower and unite Black voices for racial justice and equity in Canada's North. He also serves as an Advisor for Policy and Partnerships at the Tłı̨chǫ Government, contributing to policy development and community engagement.
Previous Experience in Community Engagement
Ambe Chenemu has experience working with the Yellowknives Dene First Nation as a Lands and Resources Coordinator from 2016 to 2018. He also worked as a Planner at the Tłı̨chǫ Government from 2018 to 2020. These roles involved engaging with local communities and addressing issues related to land and resource management.
Education and Expertise
Ambe Chenemu holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Yaounde II, which he completed from 2009 to 2012. He also earned a Diploma in Natural Resources/Conservation from Aurora College Fort Smith, studying from 2013 to 2015. His educational background supports his work in community advocacy and policy development.
