Andrés Abreu Urdaneta serves as the Curator (President) at Global Shapers Community, a role he has held since 2023. In this position, he is responsible for mentoring and guiding a team of 40 emerging leaders to develop successful initiatives and projects. He oversees hub partnerships and finances, ensuring the integration of local stakeholders, including donors, beneficiaries, and media, into hub activities. Additionally, he collaborates with the Impact Officer to implement new impact projects that benefit local stakeholders.

Andrés has a background in law, having studied at UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from 2011 to 2016. He worked as a Legal Assistant in the Human Rights Clinic at UCAB from 2015 to 2016. His experience also includes roles as a Legal Executive and Legal Intern at British American Tobacco, where he gained practical insights into legal compliance and corporate governance.
Education and Specialization in Environmental Studies
Andrés studied Environmental Studies at the University of Buenos Aires, achieving the title of Metropolitan Environmental Management Specialist from 2020 to 2022. He also completed a program in Finance for Non-Financial Executives at IESA in 2018. Andrés has held various roles related to sustainability and compliance. He worked as an ESG Observatory Program Fellow at SAP, focusing on sustainability initiatives from 2021 to 2022. His experience also includes roles at Siemens as a Compliance Trainee and at Marsh as a Back Office Health Analyst. These positions have equipped him with the skills necessary to deliver training sessions and talks on climate and sustainability.
