About Anne Gherini

My career started in the entertainment industry at Paramount Pictures and Sony PlayStation working with the biggest brands and partnering them with film and video game properties. I left corporate life to join a startup. I worked my way up to lead marketing and partnerships at Consumer (B2C: gaming, eCommerce, mobile, social) and Enterprise (B2B: SaaS, Adtech) for over 15 years. Back when I worked in gaming and social media there was no notion of the metaverse, but there was a strong belief that building incredible communities and truly creative content would pay dividends to a brand in the future. I moved to lead marketing in Enterprise SaaS after discovering Account-Based Marketing (ABM). B2B marketing was often considered less creative, but ABM created an opportunity to build a symphony of creative high-fidelity programs around one common goal: revenue. This omnichannel approach allows marketers to take more risks and tap into their creative power alley to reach customers like never before. I transitioned to Venture Capital after leading the marketing and business development efforts at Affinity (CRM for VC, PE, and Investment Banking) for four years. In venture, many firms ignore the principles we encourage our founders to practice to build high-growth brands. There is an incredible opportunity to leverage some of the same consumer and enterprise marketing principles to build a standout brand and drive quality deal flow. I am also passionate about finding exceptional early-stage founders and helping them execute an effective GTM strategy. I write regularly for Inc. Magazine and have contributed to dozens of other publications. Over the years, I have given keynote presentations at conferences in over 20 US states and in Hong Kong, Australia, South Korea, and France.
