Agbasi has extensive experience within the Government of Canada. He worked as the Director of Operations for Seniors from 2021 for 10 months, and prior to that, he served as a Policy Advisor for Seniors from 2019 to 2021. His role as Policy and Regional Advisor at Infrastructure Canada spanned five years from 2016 to 2021, during which he provided insights on policy matters related to Ontario. His background in these positions has equipped him with a strong understanding of governmental operations and policy development.
Educational Background
Agbasi earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Guelph, completing his studies from 2002 to 2007. He further enhanced his expertise by obtaining a Certificate in Public Policy and Administration from the same institution in 2019. This educational foundation has contributed to his analytical skills and understanding of public policy.
Early Career and Fundraising Experience
Before his tenure in government roles, Agbasi worked as a Fundraising Manager at Public Outreach Fundraising from 2015 to 2016. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing fundraising initiatives and engaging with stakeholders to support various causes. Additionally, he served as an Executive Assistant at the Government of Ontario from 2008 to 2013, where he gained valuable experience in administrative support and coordination.
Advisory Support and Coordination
In his current role, Agbasi provides advisory support to the Chief of Staff and acts as a backup when necessary. He collaborates closely with communications and policy teams to ensure alignment of strategies with the Minister's objectives. His ability to coordinate various operational aspects and support high-level decision-making is a key component of his responsibilities.
