About Lucas Azevedo

I'm Lucas Azevedo, a product designer and software engineer with more than 15+ years of experience. I'm currently building the future of payments for the US construction industry at handle.com (YC W19), where I'm a co-founder of the company and head of user experience and design. I'm focused on solving one of the most critical and complex workflows in construction: payments compliance and financial infrastructure. At Handle, we build software that helps simplify construction financial management and automate manual and repetitive tasks associated with late payments, owner verification, deadline tracking, RFI, enhanced waiver processes, and much more. At handle.com my role is strongly focused on the use of complex data to design simple user flows, easy to use for the largest companies in the world within the construction industry, Including publicly traded and Fortune 500 companies such as CRH, Oldcastle, Graybar, U.S. Concrete, Apogee Enterprises, and many more. I’ve worked with some of the top executives at these companies to ensure our Handle product is loved and used heavily on a daily basis by hundreds of their users. Before handle.com, I was the Lead UI/UX Engineer (6th employee) at Tenfold (tenfold.com). Which was recently bought by LivePerson (Nasdaq: LPSN) for $125 million. At Tenfold, I created the world's first Unified Customer Profile, aggregating all customer conversations to empower customer-facing support and sales representatives. Tenfold's system worked on a large scale, processing more than a billion events each month. Customers like Adobe, Staples, T-Mobile, and Western Union relied on Tenfold to run their businesses. Tenfold grew from $10,000 in annual revenue when I started to over $7.5 million in annual revenue in 3 years. Besides work, I like to perform experiments and research in virtual reality and augmented reality in my spare time. I wrote an article for Forbes about AR/VR technologies which I strongly believe in the power of computing vision and artificial intelligence to improve how we can interact with the real world.
