About Ehud Schmidt
MRI Physicist with experience in the medical imaging field: Elscint and General Electric, as well as with working at major academic hospitals; Johns Hopkins, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital. Extensive experience with developing MRI-compatible peripherals and interventional devices. Research group at Johns Hopkins Hospital is focused on developing new MRI-guided surgical and interventional procedures. My post-docs and students work on both the software and hardware aspects of these devices, building prototypes of new applications. Some of these have resulted in new products, and even in the construct of new companies. Long-term relationships with several major imaging vendors (Siemens, GE, IMRIS), catheter manufacturers (St. Jude Medical, Biosense-Webster, MRI Interventions), and peripherals manufacturers (E-TROLZ). Always looking for good students. You should have a solid background in NMR/MRI physics, and in analog and digital electrical engineering (circuits, filters, radio-frequency Electromagnetic theory and IF coils), and be willing to work very hard. Your work will involve a lot of work with large animals and with human subjects.
