About Fernando Reimers

I am interested in education programs that help children and youth develop the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. I have studied and designed programs in the areas of global education, civic education and entrepreneurship education and at the moment I lead a large cross-national research project that examines how various nations define and support the development of skills that are crucial for young people to thrive in the 21st centuryhttps://globaled.gse.harvard.edu/ More generally, I am passionate about making education institutions RELEVANT to the needs and opportunities that exist in the world, including the Sustainable Development Goals. I believe Universities can contribute to the improvement of K-12 schools and to the social and economic development of the communities of which they are a part and I engage in various initiatives aligned with that goal. I also enjoy creating coallitions and collaboratives that create value and synergies in addressing complex adaptive education challenges.
