His extensive experience at Hatch spans multiple positions, including Engineer, Project Manager, and Operations Manager from 2003 to 2016.
Education and Expertise
Harvie Buitelaar earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Calvin College, completing his studies from 1996 to 2000. He possesses technical expertise in in-line baggage handling security systems, utility relocations, storm water management, and remote gravel airstrips. His diverse experience includes runway, taxiway, and apron design, as well as obstacle limitation surfaces and land use planning. Before joining Hatch, Harvie Buitelaar worked at various engineering firms, including URS, where he served as an Airport Engineer from 2000 to 2003. He also worked at Acres International as a Civil/Airports Engineer for one year and spent 12 years at Hatch Mott MacDonald as a Principal Project Manager in the Airports Group from 2003 to 2015. His career includes a role as Manager of the Pacific North Region at Hatch Mott MacDonald from 2015 to 2016, where he further developed his expertise in airport infrastructure.
