Katie Jansen has been employed at Hatch as a Graphic Designer since 2013. In this role, she has contributed to various projects, including the development of corporate identities for significant initiatives such as the Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion and the Effluent Outfall project. Her responsibilities include creating visual content that effectively communicates complex information to stakeholders.
Education and Expertise
Katie Jansen studied at the University of Waterloo, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from 2004 to 2008. She furthered her education at Humber College, achieving an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design from 2010 to 2012. During her studies at Humber College, she achieved the highest overall honours average in the Graphic Design Program, demonstrating her proficiency in design principles and practices.
Background
Before joining Hatch, Katie Jansen worked as a Production Designer at Bamboo Magazine from 2011 to 2012. She also completed a three-month internship as an Art Intern at THE KIT in 2012. Her early experiences in the graphic design field laid the foundation for her current role and her approach to design projects.
Achievements
Katie Jansen has been involved in various significant projects throughout her career. She provided graphic design for the Leeds Brexit Impact Assessment report and designed the layout for the Town of Ajax’s Transportation Demand Management Plan. Additionally, she developed branding and report layouts for the Prosperity & Resilience Strategy in the Bay area of northwest England. Her contributions also include designing report layouts for the Gautrain Extension Economic Development and Localization Strategy and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s 2052 Port Master Plan.
