Mary Mannella serves as the Acting Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs Branch at the Ontario Ministry of Health. She has extensive experience in mental health policy and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies and Psychology from the University of Toronto, as well as an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.
Current Role in Mental Health and Addiction Programs
Mary Mannella serves as the Acting Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs Branch at the Ontario Ministry of Health. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of policies and programs aimed at improving mental health services and addressing addiction issues within the province. Her tenure in this position began in 2020 and continues to the present.
Previous Experience in Mental Health Policy
Prior to her current role, Mary Mannella held the position of Manager of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs Branch at the Ontario Ministry of Health from 2018 to 2020. She also worked for 13 years at the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services as Manager of Mental Health Policy, where she contributed to shaping mental health initiatives in Ontario.
Educational Background in Psychology and Business
Mary Mannella earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and Psychology from the University of Toronto, completing her studies from 1991 to 1995. She later pursued a Master of Business Administration at the Schulich School of Business, York University, from 1996 to 1998, focusing on Business Administration and Management.
Career in Public Service
Mary Mannella has a diverse background in public service, having worked in various capacities within the Ontario government. She served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services from 2003 to 2005 and as a Business Planning Consultant at the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General from 2001 to 2003.
