Teresa Buchanan serves as the Executive Lead for Physician & Provider Services at the Ontario Ministry of Health. Previous Experience in Healthcare Policy
Buchanan has held various positions within the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, including Director of Fiscal Oversight & Performance and Senior Policy Advisor in the Executive Director's Office. Her work has focused on policy development and consultation, particularly in relation to long-term care and health system funding. She has also worked as a Site Supervisor at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre.
Educational Background
Teresa Buchanan holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Queen's University. She has also completed a Health Information Management program at George Brown College. Additionally, she has participated in leadership development programs at Ivey Business School and the Rotman School of Management.
Negotiation and Implementation of Healthcare Agreements
Buchanan has played a key role in negotiating and implementing agreements with major healthcare associations, including the Ontario Medical Association and the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Her expertise in strategic fiscal planning and human resources planning has been instrumental in these negotiations.

In addition to her work in healthcare policy, Teresa Buchanan has experience in academia as a Sessional Instructor at George Brown College.
